The tale of the boy who tricked the Devil

Get ready for some storytelling magic.

There's this tale about a boy with a birthmark predestined to marry a princess.

But the envious king hears of it and decides to get rid of him.

The boy survives, grows up, and unknowingly, is sent by this same king to deliver his own death sentence to the queen.

Plot twist: bandits alter the letter to seal a marriage between the boy and the princess.

When the king finds out, he sends the boy to Hell to fetch three golden hairs from the Devil.

On his way, he's bombarded with questions from villagers, which he promises to answer later.

The boy meets the Devil's grandmother in Hell, who decides to help him.

She tricks the Devil and snatches the hairs while giving the boy answers to those village problems.

Armed with this new knowledge, he returns, solves the villagers' issues, and gets rewarded.

Finally, he tricks the greedy king into taking the place of a cursed ferryman.

And just like that, he lives on, both clever and rich.
